Aloha! My name is Kyoung Eun Lee, the president of Hawaii Korean Nurses Association (HKNA). Welcome to the Hawaii Korean Nurses Association (HKNA). It is my great honor to serve as the president of this dedicated organization, where nurses come together to support one another, advance our profession, and contribute to the well-being of our community. At HKNA, we are committed to making a meaningful impact through our work in community health, professional development, networking, and advocacy. Our organization plays a vital role in providing essential community services, including providing vaccinations, breast cancer awareness event, and health educational workshops for local Korean communities in Hawaii as well as running a first aid booth at major Korean community events in Hawaii. We extend our reach beyond the clinical setting, ensuring that those who need care the most are supported with knowledge and resources. We also recognize the importance of lifelong learning in nursing. To foster professional growth, we offer continuing education programs, research opportunities, and scholarships for aspiring and practicing nurses. By investing in education, we not only empower individuals in their careers but also strengthen the nursing profession as a whole. Beyond community service, HKNA is a place where nurses connect, support, and uplift each other. Through networking events and mentorship programs, we cultivate a sense of camaraderie among Korean nurses, helping one another navigate professional challenges while celebrating achievements together. 2025 활동 내역 1) 새해 정기 총회 지난 1월 31일, 저희 협회 새해 정기 총회가 있었습니다. 이 모임에서는 작년 1년 동안 협회를 위해 봉사해 주시고 수고해 주신 이지연 전 회장님의 감사장 전달식 및 2025년 임원직 선출 및 취임사, 2024년 예산보고, 협회 운영방안, 그리고 행사 계획안에 대한 논의를 나누고 친목 도모를 가졌습니다. On January 31st, our association held its annual New Year's general meeting. During this gathering, we presented a certificate of appreciation to former President Jiyeon LEE for her dedication and service to the association over the past year. Additionally, we conducted the election and inauguration of the 2025 executive officers, reviewed the 2024 budget report, discussed the association's operational plans for this year including a numerous events. The meeting also provided an opportunity for fellowship and networking.

2024 활동 내역 1) 하와이 건강 세미나 - 2024년 4월 27일 2) 하와이 코리안 페스티발 - 2024년 8월 3일 3) 하와이 한인 민속축전 - 2024년 9월 2일 4) 하와이 여성단체 주최, " 희망의 멜로디" 기금 모금 행사 - 2024년 10월 19일 현재 진행중인 프로젝트 및 예정 된 활동들이 많이 있습니다. 많은 참여 바랍니다! 2024년 네번 째 활동 10월 19일 하와이 여성단체 주최, 여성암 기금 콘서트 "희망의 멜로디" 영화배우 정준호님 및 포크그룹 둘다섯(우영철님), 가수 채우진님 참여, 유방암 여성을 위한 기금 모금 행사 이 소중한 기금 ($5,000) 은 어려운 상황에 처한 우리 한인 여성 이웃들의 유방암 검사(유방촬영술 )와 교육 및 예방을 위해 사용될 예정입니다. 감사합니다. We were honored to attend the ‘Melody of Hope’ concert, hosted by the KA Women’s Club of Hawaii, featuring actor Jung Joon-ho, folk group Duet Dasot (Woo Young-chul), and singer Chae Woo-jin. The event brought our community together through nostalgic songs and raised $5,000, generously donated to the Hawaii Korean Nurses Association. This donation will help us support women’s health initiatives.
